He Sees The Best In Me

I wrote the following a little over 5 years ago and I think it rings true to me now as it did then. It speaks to the knowledge that God DOES see the best in us. God truly knows my heart. He knows your heart. He uses people that don't even know you exist to send His message of love. This time it was through gospel music artist, Marvin Sapp and his song "He Saw the Best in Me" Are there times when you just have a hard time knowing you are truly loved? Well the following shows that this is not a new feeling for me and it is something that five years later, I'm still working on enjoy! (I was pregnant with Myah when I wrote it and an emotional roller coaster)

He Saw the Best in me, when everyone else around me could only see the worst in me!

I love Marvin Sapp for it seems as though whenever I'm going through it's as if God comes to him and says "Nanci needs to hear these words." I'll be honest, it feels personal. When I started on this journey of faith of mine many years ago he had a song that simply said "You are God Alone" I'm sharing this with all of you because in his latest single He Saw the Best in Me, the words say 'when EVERYONE else around me could only see the worst in me" and you know what I can honestly say that that has NEVER been the case for me. It has never been the people around that saw the worst in me. It was I who would look in the mirror and see nothing but failure and ugliness. Even throughout this second pregnancy, God has been using me to minister to myself. I have had moments where I was concerned about where the money would come from. How the ends would meet. How my young marriage would survive in these interesting conditions. I would see the worst not only in me but in my situation. How many of us do that? Really, I mean think about it. For many of us, WE see the worst in ourselves. We don't need OTHERS to tell us that we are not good enough, or pretty enough, or WORTH enough. We do it to ourselves. But I thank God for the fact that He sees the Best in us even when we can't see it ourselves. He gives us that SOMETHING that keeps us moving; that keeps us going.

"He is mine, and I am His, it doesn't matter what I did. He only sees me for who I am" How powerful are those word? No matter what I've done, no matter what you're done you are HIS! You belong to Him. WE belong to HIM. Those words are very personal to me because I know that I have not always been the most faithful to Him--He's faithful to me! I've not always allowed Him to order my steps--He's continually ordered them! When I want to say something that's not of Him--He bridles my tongue! And even when I succumb to my humanness He still sees me for who I am! He created me. He has known me since BEFORE I was formed in my mother's womb. He knows everything about me. And like one of my friends said the other day, He does see the worst in me, but by His GRACE, He only sees the best in me.

I don't want to look in the mirror anymore and not see what God sees. I don't want you to do the same anymore either. Whatever you are going through. No matter what we are going through, know that He sees the best in us. He knows us. He accepts us for who we are. I'm just grateful to be here today because there have been days when I could ONLY see the worst and didn't know how I would make it. Didn't know if I WANTED to make it. He's pulled me through. He's pulled you through. He's God alone and he doesn't need any help with the plans He has for our lives we just need to allow Him to do what He needs to do and allow Him to continue seeing the best in us!

AMEN!
